1. Overview
Welcome to Something (the “Platform,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). The Platform is a Web3 information discovery, understanding, and participation service for Chinese-speaking users. Through websites, mobile pages, subscription services, reminder features, community features, project participation guides, and related tools, the Platform may provide early-stage project information, AI-assisted curation, Chinese-language explanations, popularity rankings, risk alerts, official access points, and participation-progress management.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, share, and protect information relating to users, as well as how users may exercise their relevant rights. By accessing, registering for, or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you should stop using the relevant services.
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Platform and services controlled or operated by us. It does not apply to the privacy practices of third-party websites, decentralized applications, wallets, blockchain networks, social media platforms, or project teams.
2. Information We May Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
Depending on the features you use, we may collect the following information:
| Category | Information That May Be Included | Typical Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Email address, username, avatar, password, or third-party login identifier | Registration, sign-in, and account management |
| Subscription information | Subscription tier, payment status, invoice, or contact information | Membership services and billing |
| User feedback | Inquiries, reports, customer-service records, and survey responses | Customer support, product improvement, and risk handling |
| User-generated content | Comments, ratings, Upvotes, favorites, notes, and community posts | Community interaction and personalization |
| Participation records | Projects, tasks, reminders, and completion status that you voluntarily record | Tracking airdrop, testnet, governance, or interaction progress |
| Communication preferences | Email, browser, or in-platform notification preferences | Sending reminders, service notices, and security alerts |
We will not ask you to provide private keys, seed phrases, wallet passwords, SMS verification codes, or any other confidential credential capable of directly controlling digital assets. Any person asking you to provide such information is not acting on our behalf.
2.2 Wallet Addresses and Public On-Chain Data
If you voluntarily connect or submit a wallet address, we may process the wallet address, on-chain transaction hashes, public asset or smart-contract interaction records, holdings information, network information, and timestamps. Such information is often publicly recorded on a blockchain; however, a wallet address may constitute information relating to an individual when combined with an account, device, email address, or other information.
The Platform does not, in principle, custody user assets, control user wallets, or obtain users’ private keys or seed phrases. Blockchain networks are public, irreversible, and difficult to erase. Transactions conducted by users on-chain may remain publicly available permanently, and the Platform may be unable to delete, modify, or anonymize such on-chain data.
2.3 Information Collected Automatically
When you access or use the Platform, we may automatically collect your device type, operating system, browser type, language, IP address or approximate location, time of access, pages and features used, referral source, crash logs, performance data, and technical information relevant to security protection.
We may use cookies, local storage, pixel tags, or similar technologies to maintain sign-in status, remember preferences, conduct analytics, protect security, and improve the service. You may manage cookies through your browser settings; however, disabling necessary cookies may prevent some features from functioning properly.
2.4 Information Received from Third Parties
Where permitted by law and consistent with third-party authorization requirements, we may receive service-related information from login providers, payment providers, analytics providers, blockchain-data providers, public social media platforms, official project channels, or partners. We do not treat publicly available third-party content as independently verified by us merely because it is public.
3. How We Use Information
We may process information for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, improve, and personalize Platform features, including information aggregation, Chinese-language explanations, popularity rankings, favorites, reminders, participation records, and community interaction;
- To recommend projects, topics, and content that may be relevant based on your subscriptions, browsing, favorites, Upvotes, or participation records;
- To collect, translate, summarize, classify, deduplicate, label for risk, and assess the quality of public information through automated tools or human review;
- To process membership subscriptions, payments, refunds, billing, customer support, and disputes;
- To send service notices, security alerts, project-status updates, participation-deadline reminders, and marketing communications for which you have provided consent;
- To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, phishing, malware, account abuse, unlawful conduct, and other security incidents;
- To conduct analytics, audits, troubleshooting, product research, and service-quality improvements;
- To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights and safety of us, users, or the public; and
- To carry out necessary due diligence and business transition activities in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, asset transfer, or similar transaction.
If we intend to use information for a new purpose that is incompatible with the original purpose of collection, or if consent is legally required, we will obtain the necessary authorization or provide an appropriate choice as required by applicable law.
4. AI Processing and Automated Features
The Platform may use artificial-intelligence tools to translate, summarize, classify, rank, generate tags for, flag risks in, or recommend public information and content users voluntarily create within the Platform. AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, biased, or otherwise erroneous. It does not replace your own research, professional advice, or a project team’s official disclosures.
We will take reasonable measures, based on actual features and provider policies, to limit the input of sensitive information and to avoid using private keys, seed phrases, passwords, or similar confidential credentials in AI processing. You should not submit unnecessary sensitive information through comments, customer-support channels, or other input fields.
5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may share information that is necessary in the following circumstances:
| Recipient | Purpose of Sharing | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Infrastructure and cloud-service providers | Hosting, storage, backups, logs, and security | Subject to contractual and security obligations |
| Analytics, search, and AI-service providers | Analytics, translation, summarization, recommendations, and service improvement | Limited to information necessary to provide the relevant service |
| Payment, subscription, and customer-service providers | Payment collection, billing, refunds, and customer support | May be subject to their independent privacy policies |
| Project teams or ecosystem partners | Participation services you actively request or referral analytics | Personally identifiable information should not be disclosed without authorization |
| Professional advisers and auditors | Legal, financial, compliance, and security review | Subject to confidentiality obligations |
| Regulatory, judicial, or law-enforcement authorities | Compliance with legal obligations and lawful requests | Disclosed only to the extent necessary |
| Transaction counterparties | Merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer | Notice or safeguards provided as required by law |
| The Platform may display project popularity, public comments, Upvotes, rankings, or public user profiles. Before publishing any public content, you should ensure that it does not contain email addresses, telephone numbers, identity information, wallet-control credentials, or other information that should not be made public. |
6. Cross-Border and International Data Transfers
The Platform and its service providers may process information outside your country or region. Specific data-processing arrangements depend on the technologies and services actually used by the Platform.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, perform contractual obligations, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or protect legitimate interests. When the retention period ends, we will delete, anonymize, or otherwise process information as permitted by law. Information in backup systems may be deleted after a reasonable period for technical reasons.
Closing an account may not delete public data already written to a blockchain, and may not immediately delete transaction, billing, security, or dispute records that we are legally permitted or required to retain.
8. Information Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards based on the type of data, processing risks, and industry practices, including access controls, role-based permissions, encryption in transit, log monitoring, backups, and security-incident response. The internet, third-party services, and blockchain networks cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure; accordingly, we cannot guarantee that information will never be subject to unauthorized access, loss, or destruction.
If a security incident occurs that requires notice under applicable law, we will notify affected users, regulatory authorities, or other relevant parties as required.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of information relating to you; withdraw consent; object to certain processing; obtain portable data; close your account; manage marketing preferences; or lodge a complaint with a relevant regulatory authority. You may contact us at Somethinglabs@protonmail.com to submit a request.
To protect your account and the information of others, we may ask you to verify your identity. Certain requests may be subject to legal, security, public-interest, third-party-rights, or technical limitations. If we cannot fully honor a request, we will explain the reason to the extent permitted by law.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time, but you may still receive necessary account, security, transaction, policy-change, or service notices.
10. Children and Minors
Unless permitted by applicable law and expressly accepted by us, the Platform is not directed to persons who are below the age of legal adulthood in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If a parent or guardian believes that a minor has provided information to us, please contact Somethinglabs@protonmail.com.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The Platform may provide links, embeds, or entry points to project websites, decentralized applications, wallets, trading platforms, social media platforms, blockchain explorers, or other third-party services. Third-party services are operated independently and may collect information, request wallet connections, or execute on-chain transactions. Before using any third-party service, you should review its terms and privacy policy and independently verify its domain name, smart-contract address, and security.
We do not control third parties’ privacy practices and are not responsible for the accuracy, security, availability, project performance, or asset outcomes of third-party services.
12. Changes to This Policy and Contacting Us
We may update this Privacy Policy in response to service changes, legal requirements, or security needs. We will provide notice of material changes through a Platform notice, in-platform notification, or another reasonable method. The updated version will take effect on the effective date stated on the relevant page.
